This morning you will be collected from your hotel and privately transferred to Angra dos Reis from where you will catch a boat across to Vila Abraão on Ilha Grande, a haven of tropical beaches, waterfalls, mountains and peaks spread over 192km of Atlantic rainforest. Stay for 4 nights at a mid range pousada on a B&B basis.

Lopes Mendes beach

Today we recommend you spend the day on Praia Lopes Mendes beach, arguably the most beautiful beach in Brazil. To get to the beach you need to catch a boat from the port at Vila Abraão to Praia das Mangues, from where you will do a short hike through the rainforest to Praia Lopes Mendes. The trail to Lopes Mendes is home to numerous bird species and you may even see small monkeys along the way. There are no kiosks on beach, however some locals sell drinks and sandwiches from coolers. In the late afternoon you walk the trail back to Praia das Mangues and catch the boat back to Vila Abraão
