Bolivia is a landlocked country with a surprising ecodiversity.

Its ecosystems include the Amazon with its rainforest and savannas, cloud forests, the Bolivian Yungas, Pantanal and dry forests.

A vast territory of Bolivia covers the Amazon offering opportunities to see countless exotic birds, monkeys and sloths. Its rivers are populated by pink dolphins, alligators and piranha. Indigenous communities live and make a living along the river banks.

Bolivia's most accessible Amazon destination is The Madidi National Park, part of one of the largest protected areas in the world shared by the Manuripi-heath, Apolobamba and Peru's Manu Biosphere Reserve. The Madidi National Park is the only region that offers comfortable lodges where wildlife and the region can be explored. Other regions offer more opportunities to see wildlife but access and accommodation can be basic.
