Arenas Beach Hotel
Big Corn islands
Average rating 5.0 (1 ratings)
Our favourite hotel in the Corn Islands as it is set on the best beach (white sands, calm, clear, warm, blue- green waters) which also has the advantage of spectacular sunset views over the ocean. Mid range in quality but it ticks all the boxes. There are two styles of accommodation - the two storey main block of conventional "comfort" rooms offers clean, spacious, bright functional bedrooms rooms with two queen size beds, a/c and fan, private balconies facing the gardens and nice modern bathrooms (the best we have seen on either island). There are also 10 wooden bungalows set around a sandy square. These bungalow cabins are best for families or friends travelling together. Each bungalow contains two bedrooms each of which has a small private bathroom - not of the same high standard as the main block rooms. The bungalow has one verandah with hammocks and easy seating. It is possible to rent just one of the rooms in a bungalow but you would be sharing the verandah with any other guests. There is WIFI. Internet not working at the time of our visit but there is a local cyber café in easy walking distance. A street of sand separates the accommodation and restaurant from the beach where they have their own sun loungers (non adjustable) and attractive gazebos with white pvc sofas for relaxing with a book if its raining. Reception have safety deposit boxes for valuables and beach towels.
