Small boats with up to 100 passengers can put all their passengers ashore at the same time at most landing sites.

Small/mid-sized boats with between 101 and 120 passengers can usually put ashore at the same time all the passengers that want to go ashore at most landing sites.

Mid-sized boats with between 101 and 200 passengers will usually operate a shift or rationing system to put only 100 passengers ashore at the same time at most landing sites.

Large boats with more than 200 passengers are not permitted to put any passengers at many sites.

'Polar expedition' ships are practical boats with all the facilities for expedition cruising in polar waters.

'Luxury polar expedition' ships add a level of luxury to the experience.

'Budget $': up to $700 per night.
'Mid $$': between $700 and $1000 per night.
'Upper $$$': between $1000 and $1300 per night.
'Top $$$$': more than $1300 per night.

Boats that offer a range of cabin prices may appear in more than one price band.
These are indications based on cabin prices per person for two adults sharing twin/double cabins.
Most boats are priced in US dollars. For UK customers we convert to British pounds sterling at the prevailing exchange rate when you book to protect you from future currency fluctuations.

On board facilities








ON BOARD FACILITIES

Cabins with double beds Many 'double' cabins have twin beds. These boats have at least some cabins with double beds.

Single cabins It usually costs less to have a single cabin to yourself then a double cabin just for you.

Suitable for families These boats make a point of welcoming, and providing for, families with children on at least some of their voyages.

Private balconies When sea conditions are right, it's wonderful to be able to step straight out from your cabin to watch a passing orca pod, take a photo, or see the dawn break. These ships have at least some cabins with their own balconies.

The use of some facilities may require advance booking or involve an extra charge.
